The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) has released a chilling new audio recording capturing the final moments of Hind, a young Palestinian girl trapped in a car surrounded by the bodies of her family members after they were killed by Israeli fire. The recording, which has circulated widely on social media, offers a raw and devastating glimpse into the terror endured by civilians in Gaza as they face relentless bombardment.
Hind was left stranded and alone, with Israeli tanks nearby, after her relatives were killed around her. In the audio, the child’s voice reveals both fear and desperation as she waited for help that never arrived. PRCS dispatchers attempted to calm and reassure her, while simultaneously coordinating a rescue mission under extremely dangerous conditions.
Tragically, Hind never made it out alive. The ambulance sent to save her was struck by Israeli fire just metres from where she was trapped, killing PRCS paramedics Yousef Zeino and Ahmed al-Madhoun. Their deaths highlight the extreme risks Palestinian medical workers face daily, even while carrying out lifesaving missions clearly protected under international humanitarian law.
The PRCS condemned the attack as a grave violation of international conventions that safeguard medical personnel, patients, and rescue operations during armed conflicts. The organization has repeatedly urged the international community to intervene and ensure the protection of humanitarian workers in Gaza, where dozens of medics have already been killed since the war began.
Hind’s story has resonated far beyond Gaza’s borders, symbolizing the unbearable suffering of children caught in a war they have no part in. Her last words, preserved in the recording, have become a haunting reminder of the human cost of the ongoing violence.
For Palestinians, Hind is not just another casualty but a face and a voice that embodies the vulnerability of thousands of children living under siege. For the PRCS, her death – and the loss of their paramedics – underscores both the cruelty of the conflict and the urgency of stronger international accountability.
