More than 37,000 Palestinians were forced from their homes in the occupied West Bank in 2025, marking the highest annual figure on record, according to a United Nations report.
The UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) documented a sharp rise in violence linked to illegal Israeli settler attacks, which the agency said were a major driver of displacement. In total, OCHA recorded around 1,800 settler attacks on Palestinian people and property last year, causing casualties and damage across the territory.
UN officials described the situation as a deepening humanitarian crisis, noting that the 2025 figures represent a ninth consecutive annual increase in displacement. The surge comes amid ongoing tensions in the West Bank, where settler-related violence and military operations in and around Palestinian communities have intensified over recent years.
The figures also highlight the wider impact on families and livelihoods, particularly in rural and herding communities near settlement outposts. International aid and rights groups have repeatedly called on all parties to protect civilians and ensure access to humanitarian support.
