Axios Reveals: Marco Rubio has “signaled in private meetings that he doesn’t oppose West Bank annexations and that the U.S. won’t stand in the way.”

Most of the international community views the West Bank as occupied territory and would consider any Israeli annexations illegal and inflammatory.

Just yesterday, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee reiterated his long-standing rejection of Palestinian statehood. In the past, Huckabee has suggested Palestinians could be “relocated” elsewhere and endorsed annexation during his Senate confirmation hearing. His remarks come as the UAE warns the Trump administration that any Israeli move to annex parts of the occupied West Bank would cross a “red line,” jeopardize the Abraham Accords, and undermine President Trump’s hopes of expanding them.

Rubio is expected to visit the region soon and participate in an event organized by a settler group in a politically sensitive archaeological site under the Palestinian village of Silwan in East Jerusalem, a very short distance from the al-Aqsa mosque.

Israel’s plan to annex large portions of the West Bank later this month in response to the recognition of a Palestinian state by several western countries.

8 anos. A audácia. 🤬 #apartheid
