More than 500,000 citizens have already signed a historic petition demanding the suspension of the EU–Israel Association Agreement — a cornerstone treaty governing relations between the European Union and Israel. What began as a citizen petition is rapidly becoming a continental reckoning.
Launched through the EU’s official democratic channel, the European Citizens’ Initiative, the campaign has surged past the halfway mark required to force a formal response from the European Commission — an institution not easily moved, but legally bound to listen when citizens reach the one-million threshold.
And now, hundreds of thousands already have.
A surge that Brussels cannot ignore
If the initiative reaches one million verified signatures across at least seven EU countries, the European Commission must confront the demand directly: meet organisers, hold public hearings, and publicly declare whether it will act.
For supporters, this is democracy in its rawest form — citizens bypassing political inertia and forcing Europe’s leadership to answer.
Momentum is accelerating. Signature counts are climbing daily. Networks across France, Germany, Spain, Ireland, Belgium, and beyond are mobilising citizens in what observers describe as one of the fastest-growing European Citizens’ Initiatives in recent years.
Add your voice
History moves because people decide to act. If you believe citizens should shape the direction of Europe’s policies, you have the right to participate. The European Citizens’ Initiative exists for this purpose — to give ordinary people extraordinary power.
Your voice is counted, your voice matters. And at one million, it becomes impossible to ignore. The threshold is within reach. What happens next depends on who speaks now.
Sign this European citizens’ initiative here.
