Preparations are underway to receive thousands of Indonesian soldiers who will join the international stabilisation force in the Gaza Strip.
According to Israel’s Kan TV, no arrival date has been set yet, but the Indonesian force is expected to be the first foreign troops to enter Gaza.
The Indonesian troops are expected to be stationed in the southern part of Gaza, between Rafah and Khan Yunis.
The channel reported that the area is ready, although building housing for the soldiers will take several weeks. Estimates suggest the number of Indonesian troops could reach several thousand.
Meanwhile, it was reported yesterday that Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is expected to visit Washington on 19 February to attend the Peace Council meeting chaired by US President Donald Trump. Subianto had previously stated that his country is ready to send 20,000 soldiers to Gaza.
