On Monday, Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip resulted in the deaths of two Palestinian men, marking another violation of the ceasefire that has been in place since October 10, 2025. Nabil Ahmad al-Rahal, 54, was shot in Beit Lahia, while farmer Khaled Baraka was killed east of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.
Since the ceasefire began, at least 583 Palestinians have reportedly been killed by Israeli forces, despite the agreement’s call for a halt to attacks and a gradual withdrawal of military presence.
Israeli forces have violated the ceasefire on an almost-daily basis, demolishing homes, opening fire at Palestinians, and striking buildings in multiple locations across the enclave. Israeli forces also claimed to have killed four Palestinians near Rafah who they said attacked troops coming out of a tunnel, labeling them militants without providing evidence.
Meanwhile, the United Nations has expressed concern over ongoing Israeli measures in the occupied West Bank. UN Secretary-General António Guterres warned that actions like settlement expansion and military operations undermine the prospects for a two-state solution and violate international law. Middle Eastern states including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and the UAE condemned Israel’s recent decisions to expand settlement powers, describing them as moves toward annexing Palestinian land.
